Moaning Minnie about Flight Centre

Hi Everyone,
I hope that you are all well and having a great week so far.
Well my week started of very badly and I am going to have a public moan.
We were in The Long Beach Mall Yesterday and needed to book our tickets to England to see my Dad, who is very ill.
We went to Flight Centre where everything started of very well and he did the prebooking, and we then went to the bank and got a cheque, which we then gave to the Gentleman, he told us that it would take twenty minutes for the ticket to generate, so we went and did our shopping and then went back and were told no it had not gone through yet, so we were beginning to get cross, but we went and had a cup of tea and took our time about it, and then went back to be told no it still was not through, so now very angry we went home. My brother then phoned to say that he had got a ticket and it had taken him twenty minutes flat.  We were then incredibly angry and wrote a stinking email to flight centre head quarters.
We went in this morning still incredibly cross and not having had much sleep, to demand our ticket, to have a lady who was working there say to us in a crossish voice what do you want, so I demanded my ticket or my money back immediately, at which time she seemed to be reluctant, but sat down and printed out our tickets for us.
We were not treated well, and they do not seem to care for there customers, so all I can say if anyone is thinking of dealing with Flight Centre, then don't, either book your tickets on line straight from the airlines, or else go to a travel agent that you know is good.
Needless to say I will never be going back there.

Five minute Friday

Hi Everyone,
I have found something new, and am going to give it a try. I don't know what I am going to write or if I am to late to enter, but it is a nice word, and It can't do any of us any harm to think about it.
I don't know if I can write for five minutes, but Let us give it a try.
The word is Encouragement.
What a wonderful word.
Encouragement is in a way giving people love, it is persuading them in a very nice way that they can do something.
Like I was about to give up colouring and making cards, when I was given a top three spot in a challenge I entered, and that was so encouraging that I am now swimming with idea's and ready to carry on. I am not a very good drawer, but there are so many wonderfully talented people out there, producing the most fantastic, rubber and digi stamps, that any one who puts there mind to it, can colour and make card's. In fact to make cards you don't even need stamps and colouring, you can make cards from virtually anything, and a bit of imagination, and we all have imagination, whether we like to admit it or not.
In Fact I would say that writer's should make very good card maker's, as you cannot write if you have no imagination, and if you can imagine something, you can usually make it.
So come on all you writer's I am sure that if you take a bit of time out, you can make the most beautiful cards for your friends and family and save yourself a fortune.
So I encourage you all to try.
And I want to thank you all for this, as this has encouraged me to write, and given me some idea's for cards, so thank you all for the encouragement.
And that I am afraid is it, as I dyslexic I type very slowly and my five minutes is up.

Ask Away Friday with Carissa

Hi Everyone,
Sorry i am very late with these, but Carissa is an absolutely brilliant person and I hate letting people down.
Everyone must please forgive me if I am not around as much but my father is very ill in England and we are dashing around trying to get air tickets and visa's etc, so that we can go and see him, takingall my time at the moment it seems.
Well I really enjoy
Ask Away Friday, and will try not to miss any, even though my internet access is going to be limited there.

As I said I am teaming up with Carissa this week and to see how she answers my questions you can go to:

Well her goes a very good set of questions from Carissa.
1)    It's date night and it's your turn to plan ... what do you plan?
       Well we both prefer to be at home, so as we have a small flat, I would send him out for the day, and cook him up a smack up gourmet meal, and then take out his favorite musicals and we would have a romantic dinner for two and then watch at home movies.After that I leave to your imaginations.
2)    How did you get into blogging?
       Well that was simple, we had not got the business on it's feet yet and I was bored and going into my email, when I saw blogger, and Les was standing behind said why don't you try, So I thought why not, it will be somewhere, where I can show the work I am doing, and if I get good enough, I can start another one for the business.
3)    I see you are very into crafts and DIY projects, which one is your favorite and why?
       At the moment my favorite thing is doing stamping and colouring the stamp and then making it mainly into cards at the moment. Here is my latest one.

4)    What is your favorite part of blogging?

My favorite part of blogging is all the fantastic poeple that I meet and make friends with.

5)    You participate in a lot of blog hops, which one is your favorite and why?

Wow what a good question. I have not really thought about it, I don't think I really have a favorite, I find them all wonderful and the people that you get to meet are wonderful to.

6)    What are your favorite blog's to read?

Well I love the food one's because they are teaching me lot's of new recipes, and hubby and I now compete to see how many recipes we can use each week for something we have never made before. I love the crafty ones because I am always learning new things from them. I love those that teach me more about blogging, because I know nothing. And then there are those that give you love and encouragement, and I need a lot of that at the moment.

7)    Where do you find inspiration for your blog?

I find inspiration all over the place, sometimes I am just looking out of my window, and see the baby ducks, and it will give me an idea to go and make a card or find a stencil or, may be I will just feel like giving everyone some love and I will just write a post. It all depends, somtimes I get idea's or inspiration by visiting other blogs.

8)    What is your favorite thing to do since your retired?

Well mainly I am making Stencils and wooden cut out's for the Company, and when I don't do that I love either sitting with Les and a nice glass of wine and a good movie, or doing some crafting.

9)    What are your blogging goals for the year?

I guess I have not made any as yet, as at the beginning of january my father became very ill and I have been concentrating on that more then anything else. I would not mind, maybe being able to sell some of my company stuff, through my blog, but I don't want to loose all my friends, and may be get fifty to a hundred followers.

10)    Does your husband read your blog?

Well not unless I ask him to read something, or else he may read it qwhen he does computing late at night and I am in bed.

Entering a Challenge

Hi Everyone,
well i did something stupid and lost my challenge link, so hopefully they won't mind if I re-enter.
Please don't I am very new at this.
Anyway I was very pleased with the card just made so thought that I would pluck up the courage and enter it.

This card was made with a Stamping Dragon design digi.

I put it on Red card stock that I had in my stash.

I coloured it with a mixture of Promarkers and flex markers.

I then added a stencil produced by AL Solutions.

I then added the embelsihments.

This card is being entered into the Anything Goes Challenge

There is only one of each, no repeat's, but if you wish to order then I am quite willing to make a card for any occasion.
The cards cost R10-00 not including postage.
Here are the ones that are already made and for sale.

As I say these prices are in South African Rands, The exchange rate in South Africa is:

10.88 us Dollars to the Rand that means that card today will cost about 1 dollar.

17.83 pounds to the Rand which means a card today will cost about 56 pents

14.83 Euro's to the rand which means a card today will cost about .67 euro's

These prices do not include postage, which will depend on where we send them.

AL Solutions

As you may know my Husband and I run a company called AL Solutions.

we produce at the moment mainly Stencils and cutouts. They are for sale world wide and as many copies as you wish.

Card of Love
