Hi Everyone,
I was nominated for the sunshine award by April Grant from100lb Countdown. (http:100lbcountdown.com).
I want to say thank you so much for this, it comes at a time when I really needed cheering up, and it has put me right up there and ready to go again. Thank you so much.
1) Bloggers are writers. What is your favourite subject and how do you think that you convey it to your reader's
My subject is the things I make and what goes on in my life, and anything that I think may interest other people. I think , that i am very new at this, and I am not doing to well, and then some lovely [erson like April nominates me for an award, and I begin to think that I may be doing something right, so thank you.
2) As Parents we are with our children during most of our free time. Where are you imagining yourself during these "not so fun" times with your kids? take us into the fantasy region of your mind.
Don't really have that problem, as my step children are all grown up and away from home, but if I did i would imagine myself in a beautiful meadow with a brook running into a pool and some willow trees and just me and hubby alone with a picnic and lots of skinny dipping.
3) Being a parent can be extremely difficult. Besides parenting, whats the toughest thing you've ever done? How did you make it through.
I think the toughest thing I have had to do is keep my husband cheerful while he spent over three months in hospital, and then two months at home with a broken neck, where they told him he would never walk again, but he is so stuborn, that he is walking and doing things again. I got through with the help of very good friends and knowing that no matter what happened God would give me the strength to handle it.
4) Sleeping with a partner can sometimes cause tension. How do you like to sleep? Is there a particular side of the bed? Near the door or the window? Do the kids sleep on your side of the bed?
Well there are no young kids. all grown up and away from home, so no they don't sleep on either side of the bed. I prefer to sleep next to the window, but am not to fussy, can sleep on either side. Hubby is not fussy so I always get first choice, and usually choose the window side.
5) Instead of resolutions, many people are choosing a word of the year. What would be your word and why?
My word would be Tidy, as I am a very untidy person and I need to get everything tidied up.
6) If your children aren't jumping on you at 6am, what time would you sleep untill? And what would you do for the rest of your day.
Well no kids to jump on the bed, but we get up between nine and ten and then get down to our business for the rest of the day.
7) Having an excercise routine is important to keeping the weight down or off. What do you do to keep your routine going, in the midst of your personal craziness of life?
Well I am a lazy slob when it comes to excercise, so I have no routine, and sedintary job, so getting fat?
Hubby and I always say we should go for a walk every day, but somehow before you know it the day si gone and we have not gone for our walk.
8) Do you like to read? What kind of books? What's the last thing that you read?
I love to read, don't get much time, but I read virtually anything except maybe romances. The last book I read was How To Make First Class Cards by Debbie Brown.
9) Brag a little about your best recipe or dish that you can cook. Make it sound delicious even if it's a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Well i think my favourite recipe at the moment is my Maccaroni Cheese. I first cook the pasta. I then take another pot and fry up some onions and garlic, and then fry the bacon, to which I add mustard powder, italian herbs, horse radish and paprika. I then add the flower and make a roux, I then add the milk untill the sauce is the consistancy that I want it, I then add lots of three different cheeses that I have grated before hand, and melt them in. I then add the suace to the pasta, and then put it in an oven proof dish, put slices of tomato and lots of the the same cheeses that I had grated earlier and then put it in the oven to melt the cheese and cook the tomato. It is yum. I sometimes add a bit of tomato to the sauce as well.
10) Names can sometimes be symbolic of who you are as a person. Were you named after someone? who? Do you know why? Do you agree with the symbolism for your name?
Well my first name is Winifred, which I don't use, as I don't like it, I was named after my mother favourite great Aunt. My second name is Anne wich is the one I use, but most of my good friends call me Annie. Symbolism is not there as I don't use that name.
11) It is Friday night and the kids are asleep. What movie do you grab to watch?
Well I guess that it would be a musical at the moment it would probably be Camelot.
Thank you once again for this award.

Happy New year to everyone
Hi everyone,
Well can you believe it, it is the last day of the year, and to me it seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the last new year.
the year seems to have gone by so fast that I blinked and almost missed it.
I want to wish everyone a very happy new year with this card that I have just made.

I want to wish everyone a very happy new year with this card that I have just made.
In this part I took a fireworks image that I had and put it on.
I then put the writing on.
In this part I put the background on both pages,
and then I put on the material like stuff, then the sort of wreath frame,
and then the rose.
On the other side I put the writing on over the back ground.
A very Happy New Year to Everyone

Christmas Day at Backsberg Wine Estate
Hi Everyone,
I hope that everyone had a really wonderful Christmas.
I had a really fantastic day. My husband, Les, My Brother, Charles and his wife, Gen went to Backsberg Wine Estate in Paarl, which is about an hour's drive from where we live, for Lunch.
We arrived there to be offered a free wine tasting which we did, and then we went to our table, and soory to say did not take photo's till we had finished eating, because the tabbles were beautifully done. Wtiht white table cloths, and a small plate of olives and feta cheese, and another with various breads, We soon tucked into that, had to tell Les to stare clear of the cheese as he is allergic to chillies. We sat quite relaxed and chattered away, and then went in and got our starters, there were the most beautiful platters of all sorts of fish, and as they got toward empty they were replaced. There was salmon and rolmops, and praws and crab and calamari and muscles and some fish mouse like thing, everything was delishish.
We then chattered some more, and went in for our main course, they had inside stacks of different veg and salad dishes and suasage and ham and bacon rolls and chicken, but we got our veg and salad and then went out and had the spit roast lamb, absolutely yum.
We then took another break and these photo's were taken, the bad ones are mine and the good one's taken by someone else.
I hope that everyone had a really wonderful Christmas.

We then sat comfortably and nattered away untill about four pm having arrived at 11:45am we wen to have coffee.
We spent the most wonderful day together had some marvelous food and some good music and two marvelous bottles of pumphouse shiraz.
A really good time was had by all and we all got home very hot and somewhat tired but very contented.
I hope that everyone had an incredibly wonderful Christmas as well.
Thank you everyone for your support and friendship.

Ask Away Friday
Hi Everyone,
First and foremost I want to wish everyone a very happy and blessed Christmas.
I am very priviledged to be teeming up with Mrs Tee, this week, what a wonderful person and what wonderful question she has asked. Please all go to http://www.mrsteelovelifelaughter.com to see the questions that I asked her and give her some really love she is such a lovely lady
Well her goes :
1) I think that it is so cool that you are a trained(even if semi) opera singer! How did you come upon that as a talent versus regular singing?
Well I I suppose that I always had music in the house, and I used to sing after my mothers opera records even as a little girl. Then in junior school I was in choirs and loved. When I was thirteen I told my father I wanted to take singing lessons, so he found me a very good teacher, and although I was still a bit young I started to take lessons, and she was very good for me because for a while she would not let me have my own way, and would only let me sing scales and from there we went on.
I then joined the Cape Town Symphony choir and was a member untill it disbanded. I then married and singing went onto the back bench, because when you are performing you have to be quite self centered and put the performance first, and I was not prepared to do that to my marriage, my husband is to important to be put on the back burner, so I only sing in the bath and at home now.
2) You love to Read as do I. What is your favorite genre of book? Fiction, non-fiction, mystery, historical, romance....?
Well I suppose at the moment my favorite is Science Fiction, but I do read virtually anything, except maybe romance, I think that is my least favorite.
3) I saw you love to cook. What about baking? is that something you enjoy or would you rather do savoury than sweet?
Well I suppose that I would rather do the savoury, but must admit to enjoy making cakes and cookies, but please can someone else do the decorating, I have not the patience to do the icing and the decorating, luckily hubby somtimes does that bit.
4) You are very crafty. What piece of advice would you give to someone who sees themselves as a novice crafter trying to get better?
I would tell them never to give up, I don't consider myself an expert, but never give up and remember that because it did not turn out as you pictured, does not mean that it is wrong, it is just different, and it is not to thrown out, but showed and given with pride. The things that make, quite often do not turn out as you pictured they would be, sometimes they are better, and sometimes they are so different that you don't like them, but if you display them you'll be surprised how many people will give you good comments.
5) Since Christmas was just yesterday, how was your Holiday? Do you celebrate big or small and intimate?
We usually go small and intimate, but this year we are going big, and going out to one of the wine farms with wine club and my brother and sister in law for a spit barbecue and wine and lots of good company and music etc.
6) What is on your list to do or accomplish in the new year?
Well my company is doing well selling in the U.K. and would like to get it of the ground in South Africa, so we are earning in both places.
7) Where do you want to see your Blog in the New Year?
I would like to see my blog with at least maybe thirty followers by the end of January and being a blog that everyone likes to visit and feel loved and get information on things that may interest them and lead them on to the other blogs so they can follow there and give some love out.
8) What is your favorite thing to do on a lazy day?
On a lazy day I love to do some crafting and sitting and reading and maybe watch a good movie.
9) Where is the furthest you've been from home?
Well that one is easy, the furthest I have been from home is when I did a twelve week campiong tour round the U.S.A.
10) My Signature Question: Are you a member of Team Tea or the Coffee Crew?
No I am not, but sounds interesting, how does one become a member?
